Donald Trump has given the axe to his longtime right-hand woman and Apprentice costar Carolyn Kepcher.
According to the New York Post, Kepcher was given the boot after Trump became frustrated by her outside projects. Carolyn “became a prima donna” says a source for The Post, “being on ‘The Apprentice’ went to her head. She was no longer focused on business. She was giving speeches for $25,000 and doing endorsements.” The source also goes on to say “that when Trump tried to reach her recently, she was off on a trip to make a speech. Another time, while giving a tour of the pro shop at the Briarcliff club, she didn’t seem to know the prices on any of the merchandise.”
Kepcher’s Apprentice fame lead to TV offers, speaking engagements, commercial endorsements and a book deal. “Carolyn 101: Business Lessons from The Apprentice’s Straight Shooter” became a bestseller landing the former Trump employee an agent as well.
Despite the firing, Trump and Carolyn are reportedly still good friends. According to The Post source, “Trump told her what she had to do was take some time off and spend it with her family, and then get another job. They have a great relationship.”
Kepcher’s departure will have no effect on the production of the The Apprentice however, the upcoming season which will be set in Los Angeles, had finished shooting with Trump siblings Ivanka and Donald Trump Jr. taking over Kepcher and long-time Trump pal George Ross’ roles as sidekicks.
The Apprentice’s sixth season is set to air in January.
